Millfield House

Millfield House is truly a dog friendly, 2 bedroom (sleeps 4 + travel cot) self-catering holiday cottage situated within the lovely hamlet of Maiden Law, just one mile from Lanchester in County Durham.

Your holiday is important to us, we know the value of a good holiday, especially one where you can completely relax with your dog by your side.

Many holiday cottages say they are dog friendly but not so in reality. They have strict rules such as no dogs on the furniture, no dogs in the bedrooms, this causes stress especially as many dogs sleep in the owners bedroom at home, so this is the last thing you need when you’re away and trying to relax!

At Millfield House dogs of all shapes & sizes are most welcome. If they sleep on your bed at home, they can sleep on your bed on holiday; simply let us know, bring your own bed linen, pop it on the bed and relax. If they like a cuddle on the sofa then that’s fine too, throws are provided, or again bring your own if you prefer.

We love our dog Coco to go on holiday with us she’s part of our family and feel strongly that we shouldn’t be charged extra for her to join us on holiday. Which is why we don’t charge you extra to bring your dogs with you. Millfield House welcomes up to 2 dogs to bring their lovely owners on holiday.

Being dog friendly doesn’t mean we have compromised on the quality of the furnishings we provide for you. The beds are super comfy, a King Size and 2 full size singles, comfy leather sofas, well equipped & furnished kitchen, outdoor furniture, luxury robes and slippers and a welcome pack.

We want you to have a wonderful relaxing time whilst exploring the beautiful area of the North East of England. There are plenty of lovely walks from the cottage and it is ideally situated for the C2C cycle route.

Once back after a great day out you can kick off your shoes, put on the complimentary slippers, run the bath and then relax in the fluffy robes provided.

Alternatively relax with a glass something chilled in the garden whilst enjoying a BBQ.

Changeover days – The changeover day is Friday for a 7 night break, at times we maybe able to accommodate a different day or provide a short break, please contact us for details.
